Road Fever

‘Road Fever’ is a record compilation of turbo-charged instrumentals from St. Lucia, Dominica & Guadeloupe that showcases the producers forging the future of Caribbean music. Drawing together instrumental Dennery Segment and Bouyon riddims and distilling them down to their bare bones – pushing minimal 150+ bpms, FL-percussion packs, DJ/vox samples & synth riffs that bridge a mixture of trap, drill, dancehall, sped-up Haitian kompa, Angolan kuduro and Portuguese batida.

Compiled by Rozaly, this record brings together new and established artists and presents tracks that were originally made for vocalists for the first time as instrumentals, each road tested at sound systems across the islands.

The cover features overlaid images from these road trips. Juxtaposing blurred imagery of the tour van and photography shot from out of the moving windows. Layering a metallic silver print to create an after-image of palm trees speeding by.

Text is set in Eurocat, a matrix font family inspired by the control displays. Retro, techno-future lettering that creates a glitchy impression where shapes shift and collide.
